I sat down this morning and tried to compile a list of my top ‘wants’. Really, the list is pretty short. The items I put on my list are things that, if I do ever get them, it won’t be any time soon. I did some research on pricing, as well, just in case anyone is interested in purchasing the same items.
- Nikon d600: I feel like I’m at a point in my photography that I could use an upgraded camera. I currently have the Nikon d3100, and it’s been a great little camera, but it doesn’t handle low light situations very well. I chose the Nikon d600 because it has all the options that I want (full frame, kelvin, exposure bracketing, etc.) without being overwhelming for a relatively new photographer. Amazon has the best price on this camera at $1659.99.
- Nikon 85mm f/1.4G AF-S Nikkor Lens: I really only want this if I have the d600 to go with it because I have a 50mm right now, and on the d3100, it pretty much acts like an 85mm. The best price I found was at Best Buy, and it beat Amazon by a penny at $1598.99.
- iRobot Roomba 770: Really, if I can’t have a maid, I’d like to think this is the next best thing. I love the thought of this little machine zipping through my downstairs at night cleaning up all the little messes of the day. It seems to be pretty consistently priced at $499.99, but, if you have a 20% off coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond, that’s the best deal!
- Mac Pro: I really have no explanation for this one. I love all things Apple (for no reason) and if I ever get to frivolously spend money, this is definitely one of my first purchases. I linked to the Apple website because they have a new version coming out this month and that’s the one I want. I won’t be able to price shop until it’s released.
And that was it. I really thought about it, and I couldn’t come up with any more material items that I would want. I mean, I’d take another diamond ring, a maid, or even a three month trip to Europe. It just isn’t so easy to list those things, because they require a lot of in person research. If you could wake up Christmas morning and find whatever you wanted under your tree, what would it be?
I went out to the craft store today, and bought some supplies for my Christmas decorations, so I’ll have a post for you tomorrow about what I came up with.
